Keeler and Kallahan

Wow! I had an absolutely wonderful time hanging out with two of my favorite people in the world today. My mom brought Keller and Kallahan to Amarillo to spend a few days with us. We started the day by going to the new car wash. This was so exciting for Kallahan. He is so cute when he says "new car wash!" Next, Keeler decided he needed some new orange clothes! We aren't sure why orange but why not!
Now he thinks he needs orange shoes! We were headed to the discovery center but it was the hot spot for field trips today so we headed to Chuck E. Cheese!

The boys had a blast. So much fun, I miss my kids being little.
We had to do some grocery shopping after our fun morning but the kids were great!

Then we headed to pick my kids up from school and enjoyed some time swimming before the big rain-so far about 1 1/2 inches and it is still raining! Thank you Lord! We have needed moisture for so long now! Looking forward to spending time with the bosh tomorrow and going to Samuel's Kindergarten Graduation!

NRCS poster contest

I am a proud mom again! Samuel entered on the NRCS coloring contest and he received a third place ribbon out of all the kindergarten and first grade entries! He has always loved to color and is really a perfectionist. Drives us crazy at times because if he messes up he has a hard time letting it go.
Jacey earned a second place ribbon in the drawing portion of the contest. She didn't want to enter but I think she is glad she did now.
Now they both have some money they can spend but both of them will probably decide to just save it.
Jakob was given the superintendent's team award at school on Thursday. This means he has at least a 90 average for the entire school year!

Luke's Graduation

We headed out early Friday morning for Manhattan, Kansas. We met Pat and Maggie in Oklahoma City. They were in Dallas for doctor visits. I cannot believe it but the kids were silent the whole 9 hour car ride. We only made one stop! Of course our stop included ice cream!
We made it to Manhattan around 4 and the kids were so excited to play with their cousins.
It was a cold and rainy weekend which was a nice change for us. After supper and lots of playing we headed to our hotel. They had a nice outdoor fireplace and water area.
Saturday was Luke's graduation. We are all so glad we made the long trip to help celebrate his accomplishment. It was a wonderful ceremony and again the kids behaved wonderfully.
It was a wonderful celebration weekend. We ended our time in Manhattan at varsity donuts. Jacey always decides to lose a tooth anywhere away from home. She pulled it at the donut place!
I think this makes 10 trips for the tooth fairy! What a great weekend.

Mother's Day

First of all I am so honored to be these wonderful kid's mom. They are growing up way too quickly though. My sister took this picture a couple years ago but they are still some of my favorite pictures.
I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day, well except for the wind was terrible! We started the day at church. Then we came home and prepared for my family to come out for lunch and swimming! The guys grilled us steaks. I love having my family out at our house...it doesn't happen often because Amarillo is muchmore convenient for everyone.

My sweet sister made me this very special chalkboard message frame. She also made me this special tin for flowers.  I love being her kids aunt! I feel bad I didn't get her anything.

Jacey secretly went shopping with Grandma Kak! She knows her mother well...she picked out a new water bottle and two necklaces. I appreciate all my mom does for me and my family!

My family left around 5, so we decided to relax and watch a movie, which is exactly what we all needed after our hectic week. Kids went to bed early so Jarret and I were able to watch Nashville-we are five weeks behind!

Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mom, Sister and all other moms!

We Survived!

On Sunday, I made out our weekly calendar and my first thought was "How will we survive this busy week?" But then I decided to have a positive outlook and just focus on one day at a time and to enjoy each and every fun-filled day.

On Monday, I decided to cook freezer meals for the busy weeks ahead. I was able to make and freeze 10 meals which was a huge accomplishment. Samuel and I went to watch Jacey play softball in Claude, while Jarret went to coach Jakob's game in Panhadle.  I hate to miss watching him play.
Tuesday was softball practice for Jacey.

On Wednesday, I was able to spend the entire day with Samuel. This made me realize how much I miss him and how much I am looking forward to summer. It can't get here quick enough. We went to the discovery center for his field trip. It was a blast and then we went to play at the park. After a fun-filled day we went to hang out at Grandma's for awhile before Jarret arrived with Jakob and Jacey for piano. We discovered at practice last night that Jacey needs to throw left-handed as well. So we went to buy her a new glove, it is amazing how much better she catches and throws now.

Samuel and I made a castle from legos! Samuel loved the construction site they had set up. He played for hours and all he talks about now is taking Jakob and Jacey to see all the cool things at the discovery center!

On Thursday, I met my good friend Chrisee in Amarillo to celebrate her birthday. We had our toes done, went shopping and had lunch. We even had a slice of strawberry shortcake to celebrate. Thursday night was the busiest night yet, Jacey had softball at 6 in Claude, Jakob baseball at 6:30 in White Deer and I had tennis at 8:00 in Amarillo. Jacey was hit twice in the leg and walked to first base. Her team went on to beat Clarendon for the first time. They are now 2-0 for the season. Jakob and I both lost our games but we had fun! After my tennis game I got to go see Kelley, Tyler, Keeler and Kallahan, they are here for Tim's wedding.

Things didn't slow down on Friday. Friday was Jacey's day to spend with mom. She had a field trip to Palo Duro Canyon. I think we hiked over four miles but the weather was perfect! The kids had a blast and made some wonderful memories.

After our hiking, I had a Mother's Day makeover courtesy of Samuel. He can give quite the massage and my nails and makeup looked great. After a long day we enjoyed the evening outside at home. We even painted the pool house. I am exhausted! Weekend recap is ahead!

Softball!

Jacey's first softball season started last night. Her team beat White Deer 15-9! We are so proud of these girls. Jacey didn't play last year but she decided to give softball a try this year. She is loving it!
Of course, I love to watch her play. Her coach thinks she does better at left-handed batting. Jacey is not totally confident with this decision. She was walked on her first time up to bat. She quickly stole 2nd and then 3rd. She scored on the next hit! She was upset she didn't get to hit but it was a great game!

Jakob's team had a hard loss last night. The score was 15-14...but what a ball game! I hate I missed it, but you can't be in two places at once.

Baseball again!

I don't want to blog about the same thing all the time but Jakob had another great game last night. I know he doesn't get his athletic ability from me. This is an article written about the game that I just had to share:
I am one proud mom, to say the least!

I love this quote and believe it sums up how I feel about watching my kids play sports. I hate to miss anything they are involved in. That is why it is going to be difficult when Jakob and Jacey are playing on the same nights.

Tomorrow is Jacey's special day-district fashion show. She is so excited! I hope she doesn't get too nervous.
