Vegas here we come!

Jarret and I are going to Vegas for a few days. We are in need of a little getaway. Thanks to our parents for watching the kids. I am so excited to be away from reality for a few days. Planning to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill this evening.

Snow Day!

We had our first snow day in our new house and it was the greatest kind of snow day because the in town kids had to go to school but the kids from our of town didn't, so we don't have to make the day up! We had a fun day of playing in the snow, watching movies and relaxing by the fire. We had 7 inches of much needed wet snow.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day! The kids had great parties at school. Samuel enjoyed a field trip to the post office to mail his valentines and then had a party with way too many sweets. He didn't have any interest in looking at his Valentines from his friends. Jakob and Jacey had great parties at school complete with balloon bouquets. This was the first year Jakob wanted to send a balloon to a girl. He is growing up too quickly. After school the kids enjoyed playing in the snow again. We enjoyed a supper complete with nonalcoholic strawberry daiquiris. We had a fun evening.

Spelling Bee!

Jakob was in the spelling bee today. We are so proud of him and I love that he has courage to get in front of his classmates and spell. The spelling bee is against 1-8th graders. We think he did a great job. He made it to the 8th round and was in the top 7. He was the last boy standing. His word he misspelled was reign. Each and everytime he went up to my heart starts to race. Next year I hope Jacey will participate. She loves spelling but doesn't want to get in front of people. Jakob is naturally confident. We are proud parents!

Jakob's Basketball

Jakob has had a great basketball season so far. They are 3-3 for the season. This is the first year they should end up with a winning record. It is amazing to see how much each boy has improved and matured since last year. Jakob is point guard and he has finally realized he main job is to assist with scoring and not actually making the points. This weekend it their last four scheduled games for the year unless we play in a tournament later. I think they will be able to win a few, we are going to have a fun and busy weekend of sports. I am going to start playing tennis this weekend with a beginning women's group...wish me luck! I have zero coordination.
